Adrienne's First Month

Adrienne is doing fabulous and we are so grateful for her sweet little spirit. Jonas has been a big helper, sometimes trying to help too much. For instance, trying to feed her cheese and pick her up out of her crib. He is adjusting well, of course he has his moments. I am pretty much recovered and ready to get back into the swing of things. O.K.....just as I am typing this Jonas comes into the room carrying Adrienne...Holy Cow!!! I have to watch that kid. He just told me, "Mom I'm not going to drop her." Good times.

This is how Jonas rode the ride, head down. We kept yelling at him to look up, but he insisted on riding head down.

Adrienne Charmaine Quick

Adrienne is finally here! She made her grande entrance on September 8th at 7 am. She weighed 8 lbs. 3.5 oz. and is as cute as can be. She looks a lot like Jonas when he was a baby. So, the story goes... I went into labor on Labor Day around 6 pm. The contractions started off with a bang, there was no gradual onset. They were every 2-3 minutes from the start, and HARD! We decided to head to my parents house to drop Jonas off around 9 pm and headed to the hospital. I was only dialted 1 cm, but since I was a vbac and had a consistent labor pattern, they kept me. I jumped from 2 cm to 8 cm in a couple of hours and then my water broke. We were so excited that things were moving fast and smoothly. Unfortunately, I stayed at 8 cm and -1 station for about 6 hours. She just would not come down even with all the steady contractions. I then spiked a temp. of 102 and her heart rate started to increase. Of course, this concerned the doctor (who I think was also a little tired of waiting for me to progress) and the doctor told me I needed to have a c-section. I lost it of course, being that I made it so far without any complications. The funny thing is, this is pretty much the same exact way that my labor went with Jonas. The fast onset of labor, dialting quickly, staying at -1 station, spiking a temp., and then a c-section. It was not the way I wanted things to go, but I have to say that I am happy we are all healthy.
We ended up staying in the hospital 6 days because Adrienne wasn't gaining weight. She is doing just great now, and I am so happy to be home. That hospital bed and food just about killed me:-)
Here are a few pictures of my little angel baby...

Baby Room

Here are a few pictures of Adrienne's room. I absolutely love it! It's not too babyish and it's something she can grow into. I decided to do a Hawaiian theme, which worked out perfect because my mom went on a trip to Hawaii this summer. She found me some awesome Hawaiian fabrics and I was able to use the fabrics for many different things. I made about 10 pillows. My sister-in-law made me the cutest bird mobile, blanket and outfit with the fabric. My sister made me the coolest bird pillow ever, also with the fabric. She also helped me paint flowers on two of the walls. My sweet husband repainted all the baby furniture. The last touch will be sheer Hawaiian curtains, which my mom is making. I am so blessed with talented people on both sides of our family and am grateful for all their help.
Jonas had to pose in most of the pictures

Personalized monster blanket from my sister-in-laws. They have a business on etsy.com called Nissalisa. Their stuff is the cutest. They were featured on Good morning Texas and in US weekly magazine (Melissa Joan Harts son was wearing one of thier shirts). How cool is that!

Glitter Lava

For a few months I have been growing Jonas's hair out. It was going well until we invested in some glitter lava. He loves the stuff. It's like silly puddy. Well one day he decided to make a little crown and put it around his head. The stuff is pretty sticky and a big glob got stuck on the back of his head. I could not get it out! So, a hair cut was inevitable. Oh well.

MIA

O.k. so I haven't updated my blog or facebook in forever. Can I blame it on the pregnancy? Sure I can. The summer flew by and I am hoping the next three weeks fly by. This little girl has taken over and I am ready for her to make her grande entrance. I have one more night of work and then I plan on just vegging out on the couch until Adrienne's arrival. I do have some pictures of my baby shower and some of Adrienne's cute room. They are on another computer so I will have to post those later. I will for sure post pictures of the little nipper when she arrives. Just wanted to let everyone know we are still alive!

Summer Fun Begins!

The days in Georgia have been rainy, but we lucked out on our trip to Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta. The weather was cloudy, but perfect for a day at the park. I am so glad summer is here and we can start enjoying the outdoors. The kids had a blast and I can't wait to go back and visit the park again.
